Strength & Conditioning Built for Fighters
Our Strength & Conditioning program trains you like a boxer prepares for a fight: explosive power, a deep gas tank, and a body that holds up under pressure. It's S&C with a fighter's bias — and it's open to anyone who wants to train hard, whether you ever lace up the gloves or not.
Power That Translates to the Bag
A hard punch starts from the floor and rips through the hips. That's why our S&C work in Pickering leans on explosive, full-body movement — not just slow grinding reps. We build the kind of strength that shows up the second you throw a cross: rotational power through the core, drive off the back foot, and the ability to move fast under load.
You'll train compound lifts, throws, jumps, and carries that build real, usable force. Nothing here is for show. Every movement is chosen because it makes you stronger where it counts — and that strength carries straight over to our adult boxing classes when you decide to put it to work on the pads and bags.
The Gas Tank: Conditioning That Holds Up
Strength means nothing if you fade in round two. Conditioning is the other half of the fighter's equation, and it's where a lot of people get exposed. We build your engine with interval work, circuits, and finishers designed to keep you sharp and moving when your lungs are screaming.
This is the difference between gassing out and digging in. Fighters need to repeat explosive output over and over without their technique falling apart — so we train exactly that. Whether your goal is the ring or just out-lasting everyone else in your day, a deeper gas tank changes how you move through everything. Sessions run throughout the week — check the schedule to find a time that fits.
Durability: Footwork, Core, and Staying Healthy
The toughest athletes aren't just strong — they're hard to break. Our conditioning work hammers the core and the engine behind your footwork, because balance and a stable midsection are what keep you sharp and protected when you're tired.
- Core and trunk work that braces against real force
- Footwork drills that build the engine for staying mobile
- Mobility and durability work so you keep training, not sidelined
A durable athlete trains more often, recovers faster, and gets hurt less. That's how progress actually compounds over months and years instead of stalling out.
How S&C and Boxing Reinforce Each Other
The boxing and the S&C aren't two separate programs — they feed each other. The strength and conditioning makes your punches harder and your rounds longer. The boxing teaches your body to apply that power with timing, rhythm, and skill. Train one and the other improves.
Many of our members run both: they hit the bags and pads in class, then build the raw engine in S&C. If you want a heart-pounding bridge between the two, our cardio boxing fitness classes blend conditioning with real boxing skill. Stack them however your goals demand.
Who It's For
This isn't gatekept for competitive fighters. If you want to train hard, get genuinely strong and conditioned, and enjoy a program with grit and purpose, you belong here. Beginners are welcome — we'll scale the loads and intensity to where you are and build you up from there.
You'll find it's a different kind of fitness: no aimless wandering between machines, no junk volume. Just focused, fighter-tested work in a gold-on-black room full of people who show up to put in the work. Gloves and bags are provided if you want to mix in the boxing side.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be a boxer to do the S&C program?
No. The program has a fighter's bias, but it's open to anyone who wants to train hard and get genuinely strong and conditioned. You don't need any boxing experience to join, and we scale the intensity to your level.
Will strength and conditioning actually make my punches harder?
Yes. A hard punch is full-body force driven from the floor through the hips. We train explosive, rotational power and core strength that translate directly into harder, faster punches on the bag and pads.
Can I combine S&C with the boxing classes?
Absolutely — that's how a lot of our members train. The two programs reinforce each other: S&C builds the engine and power, boxing teaches you how to apply it with skill. Check the schedule at bkfk.ca/schedule to plan your week.
