Junior Jabbers (Ages 6–12)
Junior Jabbers is our dedicated kids program, designed from the ground up for children ages 6 to 12. It isn't a watered-down version of the adult class and it isn't the adult class either — it's its own thing, structured for young athletes. Kids learn the real fundamentals of boxing: stance, footwork, how to throw a proper jab, and how to move with balance and control. Along the way they build coordination, burn off boundless energy, and pick up something most kids today are starving for — structure and a sense of earning progress. Every session is led by a coach who knows how to keep kids engaged, challenged, and safe. Parents are welcome to watch their child grow week over week. When They Train
Junior Jabbers runs three days a week:
- Tuesdays
- Thursdays
- Saturdays
That rhythm gives kids the consistency they thrive on — enough to build real skill and habit, with room to be a kid the rest of the week. Whether your child comes once a week or all three days, the structure stays the same: warm up, drill, learn, and finish proud. We're at 813 Brock Road, Unit 2, Pickering, with free parking right out front off the 401 at Brock Road, so drop-off and pickup are easy.
Is It Safe?
This is the first thing every parent asks, and it's the right question. Junior Jabbers is built around safety. For this age group, the program is non-contact — your child is learning fundamentals on bags and pads, not fighting other kids. There's no sparring, no getting punched, and no risk of the rough stuff people picture when they hear "boxing." Everything is coach-led and structured, with proper technique taught from day one so kids move correctly and safely. Gloves are provided. We've built a room that's gritty and real but genuinely welcoming, with zero tolerance for ego or intimidation — especially around the young ones. Your child is learning a skill and building character in a controlled, positive environment.
What Your Child Gains
Boxing gives kids far more than a workout. The discipline of showing up, following structure, and drilling the basics carries straight into school and home. The confidence that comes from learning to handle themselves — knowing they're capable, knowing they're stronger than they thought — changes how a kid walks through the world. The focus boxing demands helps kids who struggle to sit still or settle down. And the fitness is real, in an age where that's harder to come by than ever. Discipline, confidence, focus, and fitness — that's the whole point of Junior Jabbers. Learn more about how boxing builds confidence in kids and why so many parents in Durham Region choose it.
